Education and Public Outreach Staff

Do you want to help build a museum that is expanding and renovating? Does your heart beat faster at the thought of creating programs for education, youth, or adults? Then seize your opportunity with this impactful role at an ambitious museum.

The Stedelijk Museum Alkmaar is strongly rooted in the city and region, with a high-quality collection and exhibitions of (inter)national significance. With three program lines – old masters from the 16th and 17th centuries, early 20th-century art around the Bergen School, and contemporary and cultural-historical themes – we offer a versatile program with which we aim to connect a diverse audience with art, culture, and history. In the coming years, we want to further broaden our audience reach and be a place where everyone feels welcome. The museum is currently working hard on expansion plans.

The Program and Collection department is responsible for the museum's content impact and consists of eight staff members, interns, and one volunteer, divided across collection (management), education, (youth) participation, curators, and exhibition project management.

For this department, the museum is looking for two
