Collections Management Intern

Stedelijk Museum Alkmaar is strongly embedded in the city and region, with a high-quality collection and exhibitions of (inter)national significance. With three program lines - old masters of the 16th and 17th centuries, early 20th-century art around the Bergen School and contemporary and cultural-historical themes - we offer a multifaceted selection and aim to inspire and connect a broad and diverse audience with art, culture and history. The museum is currently working hard on expansion plans that will allow it to strengthen its name as the art museum of North Holland North.
The Program and Collection Department is responsible for the museum's substantive impact and consists of eight employees, interns and one volunteer, divided between collection (management), education and participation, curators and project management presentations.
For this department, the museum is looking for a
Intern Collection Management
for 24-32 hours per week
What will you do?
- You will participate in all activities related to management and preservation, depot management, collection registration, and loan traffic. We will coordinate among ourselves which activities fit within your future vision.
- You will be given the time and space, if necessary, to shape and carry out a possible graduation research project. You can make use of our expertise and network within the museum world.
- You can gain work experience within a team with a lot of experience and ambition.

What do we offer you?
- A cozy internship position where you can develop your ambitions
- An internship allowance of €550 gross per month (based on 36 hours)
- 201.6 hours of leave per year (based on 36 hours)
- Travel expenses reimbursement in accordance with the Stedelijk Museum Alkmaar regulations, if you do not have a student travel product.

- The internship period is for a minimum of three months. The start and end dates will be determined in consultation.
