The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. and closed on the following days:

Christmas Day
New Year's Day  

* with the exception of Easter Monday, April 21, and Pentecost Monday, June 9, when we will be open.

House Rules

Stedelijk Museum Alkmaar would like everyone to feel at home here. We would also like our colleagues, building and exhibitions to be treated nicely. Therefore, there are general visitor conditions drawn up, so everyone knows what is allowed and possible in the museum.

Bags larger than an A4 size may not enter the museum. We ask that these be stored in one of our lockers in the museum. Please note that there is a limited number of lockers, so we recommend leaving large bags at home.

Consider this for a moment

Taking photographs, video and film recordings using lights, flash equipment and/or tripods (including selfie sticks) is not permitted without prior written permission from Stedelijk Museum Alkmaar.
