Stedelijk Museum Alkmaar, Frans Hals Museum & Amsterdam Museum Launch Recruitment for ’The Young Generation '26-27"
| Following a successful first edition of De Jonge Lichting, recruitment for De Jonge Lichting ’26-'27 will begin in September. For the four-year collaboration between Stedelijk Museum Alkmaar, the Frans Hals Museum, and the Amsterdam Museum, De Jonge Lichting will spend a school year searching for ways to connect young people's stories with the museum collections. This fall, the three museums will each select a new group of young people with whom they will work to make the three institutions even more meaningful for this target audience. |
| Four-year collaboration The Young Generation is a four-year collaboration between Stedelijk Museum Alkmaar, the Frans Hals Museum, and the Amsterdam Museum, with the aim of making museums more relevant to young people in North Holland. It is a platform for 16- to 26-year-olds who want to make their voices heard within the museum world. The museums offer participants an environment where they can experiment, collaborate, and grow. The young people take charge of their creative process; the museums provide expertise and guidance. Recruitment is starting The three museums are now starting to recruit the second cohort, with per Seven young people are hired by the museum. They meet weekly to develop creative products that resonate with their own lives, such as exhibitions, events, and performances, under guidance. This gives them the opportunity to discover their talents, network, and connect with peers, experts, and cultural organizations. Additionally, they act as ambassadors, advisors, and sparring partners. Sign up Interested young people can register starting August 10th. They will receive an invitation for the selection days by September 14th at the latest. These days are scheduled for the second half of September at each of the three museums. The young people will receive compensation in accordance with the collective labor agreement for their work.
