Group 6-8: Wet Feet & Other Nastiness
Theatrical museum lesson on the siege of Alkmaar
What is it like to play an important role in the history of Alkmaar? In this theatrical museum lesson, students not only learn the story of the Siege of Alkmaar, but also experience it themselves. In the roles of historical characters, they research, rehearse, and perform their own show together among the museum's artworks.
Wet Feet and Other Misery is a theatrical museum lesson for grades 4 through 6 in which theater, history, and a museum visit are combined. Together with a theater and a dance teacher, the class discovers through play how the Siege of Alkmaar in 1573 unfolded and learns to empathize with the townspeople, the beggars, and the Spaniards.
An active and unforgettable experience in which the past comes to life.
