For young people: Creative writing workshop

Inspired by the theme ‘market,’ one of the five themes in the exhibition Alkmaar in Image, De Jonge Lichting is organizing a creative writing workshop. Reflect on the question “What do you bring to the market?”   

In this workshop, you will transform your own written text into images through a linocut. Tell your story, let your sound be heard or share what you still dream about. Your voice is valuable and we want to give it a place in the museum. With your work you can make a statement or make yourself vulnerable to express yourself.  

The texts and cuts created can be given a place on the ‘What Alkmaar Alkmaar Makes’ wall in the exhibition. A wall that invites visitors to share their own view: in image, memory or story. 

This workshop is organized by De Jonge Lichting, the youth department of Stedelijk Museum Alkmaar. 

Practical information

• The workshop is on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026 between 19:00-21.30 
• This workshop is designed for young people (± 16-35 years old) 
• Workshop participation is free, a snack/drink is included
