Marjan van Heteren

Conservator's lecture for patrons

Thursday, July 24

Retrieved from Thursday, July 24 you can participate in the exclusive Curator's Lecture accompanying the exhibition ''Longing for Egmond. From inspiration to artists' village'. At the end of the nineteenth century, picturesque Egmond - actually consisting of three villages, Egmond aan Zee, Egmond-Binnen and Egmond aan den Hoef - was rediscovered by American artists Gari Melchers and George Hitchcock. They settled among the locals in the pristine fishing village. In sparkling colors and with great detail, they recorded the life and rituals of the people and the landscape.

Curator and curator of the exhibition, Marjan van Heteren, will give you a behind-the-scenes look. She will discuss the research she conducted, the choices she made in compiling and the creation of the accompanying publication. The lecture will last about 45 minutes and will conclude with an opportunity to ask questions. Afterwards there will be an opportunity to view the exhibition independently.

The lecture starts at 3 p.m. in the auditorium on the first floor (between the museum galleries). There is room for 40 people. You can register by filling out the form below. This lecture is free for all patrons of the museum, upon presentation of personal relationship card.
