Volunteer Museum Cafe

Stedelijk Museum Alkmaar seeks volunteers with a love of good food and drink.

What will you do?

Your workday begins with a delicious cup of fair trade coffee. Together with your colleagues you go over the day's activities. You serve visitors to the museum in the bright and cozy museum café, or help with a private opening or exclusive private dinner. You will pour the tastiest cappuccinos and serve delicious homemade cakes and sandwiches. You will work with a cash register system, kitchen equipment and do light cleaning duties. You are an important part of the appearance of the museum café and indispensable for a successful museum visit. It is fun to work as a volunteer at the Stedelijk Museum Alkmaar!

• You will work in one of the oldest museums in the Netherlands, where art and history come together.
• You will pamper guests with organic and simple creative lunches prepared by yourself.
• You will work in an inspiring environment surrounded by art and culture.
• You will be part of a friendly team of volunteers who are always up for a chat.
• You will receive a Museum Card after a year as a volunteer, so you can enjoy all that the museums in the Netherlands have to offer yourself. 

Who are you?

• You are sociable and have a friendly demeanor.
• You have an affinity for organic products.
• You enjoy learning new things.
• You are collegial and contribute to a pleasant working atmosphere.
• You are available at least one half-day (5 hours) a week.
• You are available once a month for a weekend day part.
