The complete collection of Stedelijk Museum Alkmaar, over 22,000 objects, can be viewed online. Hidden treasures from the museum depot can be admired in detail at any time.

150 years of collecting

In de beeldbank is heel veel te zien. Van de grote schuttersstukken van Caesar van Everdingen tot het kleinste object uit de collectie, een hondenhokje met een keeshondje erin. Niet alles wat op de beeldbank te zien is wordt ook daadwerkelijk getoond in het museum.

By 1871, the collection had grown so much that the establishment of a city museum became necessary. Four years later, the Stedelijk Museum Alkmaar opened its doors. It is one of the first museums of the Netherlands and the proud expression of a self-confident city that cherished its glorious history.

Borrowing smarter

Stedelijk Museum Alkmaar is affiliated with the working group Smarter Lending and endorses the lending principles within the Netherlands from the Museum Association.

Loan requests

Voor bruikleenaanvragen kun je minimaal zes maanden voor de gewenste aanvangsdatum een aanvraagbrief versturen ter attentie van Marrigje Rikken, directeur. Voor de volledigheid ontvangen wij de aanvraag graag vergezeld van een tentoonstellingsplan en een facility report.

Images

Not all images are free of image rights, which is why the images are not yet free to download. The paintings of the Bergen School, for example, are still subject to image rights, and use of the paintings from the Nijenburg collection always requires permission from the descendants.
