Stedelijk Museum Alkmaar warmly invites you to the opening of the exhibition From sea to soil on Friday 9 October.
How do you create land where once there was only water? And what can an artist’s perspective contribute to that process? In the multidisciplinary exhibition From sea to soil – Jan van Scorel and Pé Okx, you will discover how artists have imagined, interpreted and even helped shape the Dutch landscape since the sixteenth century. From ambitious plans to turn water into land to new ideas about our future, explore how art, landscape and people have been intertwined for centuries.

19:00 – Reception in the foyer
19:30 – Opening remarks by director Marrigje Rikken, followed by an interview between curator Tristan Schiff and artist Pé Okx
19:50 – Official opening
19:55–21:30 – Exclusive viewing of the exhibition and drinks in the foyer
