Stedelijk Museum Alkmaar is an enterprising art and cultural history museum strongly rooted in the city and the region, with a high-quality collection and exhibitions of (inter)national significance. The museum receives approximately 60,000 visitors annually. With three program lines - old masters of the 16th and 17th centuries, early 20th-century art around the Bergen School and current and cultural-historical themes - the museum offers a diverse range of exhibitions, educational programs and activities. The museum aims to further broaden its public outreach in the coming years and to be a place where everyone feels welcome. The museum is currently working hard on expansion plans that will allow it to consolidate its name as the museum of the northern Netherlands where world-class art can be seen.

The Audience Department consists of seven dedicated employees and 35 enthusiastic volunteers. Together we are responsible for marketing and communications, development, the museum café, the museum store, public events and all reservations.

To join the Public Department, we are seeking a:

Employee Events & Reservations for 20 hours per week

What will you do?

In this position, you will be the museum's first point of contact for schools and businesses. You will receive and book requests for educational programs, tours and room rentals, ensuring an appropriate match between the program and the visitors' wishes. To achieve efficient planning, you take into account both internal and external stakeholders and respond flexibly. In addition, you actively contribute to successful exhibition openings and events such as Museum Night. You ensure that everything is organized down to the last detail, from invitations and logistics to communication with stakeholders. You are the point of contact for guests, speakers and staff, and contribute to the smooth running of events. In this position, on the one hand you work on long-term planning, and on the other hand you regularly have to come up with ad hoc solutions.

• You keep an overview, are precise and draw up realistic schedules
• You show ownership and responsibility
• You have a relevant diploma at MBO-4 level.

What do you bring?

• - You have at least three years of work experience in a similar position
• - Demonstrated affinity and interest in art
• - You are comfortable with Word and Excel, experience with booking programs is a plus
• - Flexibility in working hours, including occasional evenings or weekends
• - You feel at home in a small, agile organization with big ambitions.

• The position is scaled at market rates based on the Museum collective bargaining agreement. You will also receive a vacation allowance of 8% and a year-end bonus of 3.4%. Stedelijk Museum Alkmaar is affiliated with the ABP pension fund.

• In addition, we have a favorable travel allowance and you will receive an annual Museum card. The appointment is initially for one year, with the prospect of permanent employment.
