Selfies in history
Interactive do-round tour
Students learn about the painters behind the paintings. They analyze self-portraits, paying attention to the representation (what is depicted?), the design (how is the representation depicted?)and visual aspects such as material, technique and handling. They think about how they would like to hang themselves in a museum 100 years from now and also discover useful tips through art that they can apply in their own selfies (lighting, perspective, etc.).

By asking students questions and carefully observing the paintings watch she otherwise to the images. Why did these people commission this portrait? Or is it a self-portrait? What do the portraits actually say about these people?
Next, students get to work on taking the perfect portrait, group photo or selfie themselves. They learn about frame, point of view, background and light and apply these to the photo of themselves or others. How do you put someone down? Then some final results are looked at and discussed.
